A High-gain, Low-profile Filtering Antenna Based on a Novel Metasurface

In this paper, a filtering antenna based on metasurface is designed using slot-coupled feeding, and the unit fractal pattern. Replacing rectangular patch with can introduce radiation zero point upper sideband of antenna, thereby enhancing selectivity. addition, current reversed by loading shorting pin, also introduced in lower sideband. After measurement, -10 dB impedance bandwidth 23.6% (3.22-4.08 GHz), average gain passband 8.1 dBi. The does not involve an additional filter circuit, has simple structure, small size, ideally eliminates insertion loss. To verify, real object was made tested found that reflection coefficient, pattern, gain, etc. were good agreement simulation results, it be applied to 5G communication frequency band.
